ForestHill Bridge and Lake Clementine

I visited Auburn again on April 3, saturday. From the couple of visits I made to Auburn, it is a scenic place covered with lots of greenery, beautiful mountains and has a nice country side look. The forest hill bridge is said to be the highest bridge in California. I passed the bridge and took the road to Lake Clementine. I hiked the trail and on my way back from the trail, I visited the water fall / dam. Nice weather, less people, calm and I was able to hear the water gushing below, in the lake. Now, as I am capturing pictures of the flowers, leaves and the small wonders of nature, I see how many variant plants exist, their different flowers, leaves, etc. Pretty impressed once again and spell bound by the nature.

I used 18-55mm kit lens, 55-250mm telephoto lens, 50mm lens. All are canon made. I tried this time using the monochrome picture style with sepia, green, blue, yellow, orange, etc variants. I also tried the manual focus, in the shots where I unfocused  the bridge and focused on the plant. I used aperture priority mode to bring far off distances into focus, shutter priority mode with low shutter speed to shoot the flowing water, program mode to shoot the cloudy sky, bridge among other modes.

Here are some pictures:

Incipient DSLR pics

After having used Sony point and shoot digital camera for a couple of years, I recently moved to DSLR. For a while the pictures taken with DSLR camera have appealed to me but I put the thought to own it aside mainly because of being apprehensive towards its portability. I was more of carrying the camera in your pocket and take the pictures whenever, wherever and not worry about the lens or anything. But after I watched the movie "Wake up Sid", I couldn't defer it anymore as I was bewitched by the pictures taken by the actor in the movie. Thence here I am, a noob with a DSLR at his possession, figuring out how to take good pictures. The camera I own is a Canon Rebel T2i (550D).

Without informing myself about the how-to-dos of the camera, I have already indulged in taking a few pics. Here they are.

All of these were taken with canon 50mm f/1.8 lens.
